- Results-Call For Nonurban Ideas-2021 | Mango Architecture
Mango Architecture, in collaboration with Nonurbanism, is pleased to invite architects, students, engineers, designers, and artists from around the globe to take part in the 'Call for Nonurban ideas 2021'. BTOP FOREWORD This competition aims to recognize outstanding ideas that address the unequal and often extractive relationships between the urban and nonurban halves of the world, by speaking to the people living on the peripheries of large metropolitan centers, cities, small towns, or rural areas. Here, we would like you to generate proposals that focus on the strengths of communities, upholding the dignity of humanity and supplanting current, dominant urbanizing biases. Ideas may spring from any concern, be it socio-cultural, socio-political, or socio-economic but finding expression in the spatial relationships between communities and their environments including the commons - land, water, forest, or settlements. Specifically, it is a call to examine the relationships between rural communities and the processes that define them. There are no restrictions regarding site, program, or size. The objective is to provide maximum freedom to the participants to engage the project without constraints in the most creative way. However, we urge you to profile a nonurban community where you have specific native insights into the culture and legacies of the area. Such a proposal can be developed for submission to invested authorities and/or private international funders. - Results-Glamping | Mango Architecture
This ideas competition intends to contribute to the community by achieving a social, economic and environmental impact. The Social Impact is to be achieved by the exchange of varied cultures, thoughts, and points of view. The economic impact is to be evaluated through energy-saving and therefore the good use of the local resources. BTOP FOREWORD The challenge was to create a landmark glamping destination, a place where nature, ecological values, comfort, and modern design are equally balanced, for which the site could have been either on mountains, near lake shores, on the water, into the deep jungles, on the trees or can be anywhere in the world you wanted, with a unique and creative design of a Guest Room(Cabin) that could be iconic and is not easily replicable. The cabin would not be a permanent structure; you can not compromise its quality and durability. The project intended to revitalize the concept of glamping.
